Royal nightmare for Gold Coast luxury rental business Royalty Entertainment as it rejects claims

A Gold Coast luxury rental company labelling itself “number one” for “luxury hires and events” is rejecting claims of fake celebrity endorsements and owing car owners. FULL DETAILS

A Gold Coast woman who lends her Range Rover to a luxury car rental business claims it was rented out without paying her.

Royalty Entertainment’s social media pages features posts marketing itself as the Gold Coast’s “number one” for “luxury hires and events”, which includes claims of celebrity use or endorsement. Royalty rents out individual’s cars at a profit to both the company and car owner.

However regular vehicle provider Jade Kidd claims last time her car was used it clocked up 2500kms in two weeks – without her knowledge or any payment.

On February 23, Royalty Entertainment posted multiple images to its Instagram of Hollywood stars Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. The posts claimed it provided them with cars and security personnel – all arranged within two hours notice during Blink-182’s Australia tour. In the image posted Ms Kardashian and Mr Barker are entering a Range Rover with a security guard wearing a ‘Royalty Entertainment’ branded jacket.

Ms Kidd said Royalty Entertainment director Jonathan Langsammer called and asked for her car for Kourtney Kardashian.

“He told me she hired it – he said Kourtney wants two Range Rovers, I’m coming to get yours,” Ms Kidd claimed.

However Ms Kidd said she found out after the fact that another dealership allegedly provided cars to the pair, claiming she was “unsure” of who had or what was done with her car.

The Bulletin can confirm the image Royalty posted was edited. The original image is of Ms Kardashian and Mr Barker leaving a Los Angeles hospital. There is no Royalty branding on the security guard’s uniform in that shot.

The Bulletin asked Mr Langsammer about the Kardashian hire claims but received no response.

Ms Kidd said she was “fed up” with the service, getting two speeding fines and a toll infringement notice all when she was overseas – resulting in the State Penalties Enforcement Registery issuing her a notice to pay the outstanding fines or risk having her licence suspended.

The Bulletin has sighted two of the fines, at a time she claims her car was allegedly going unused. According to Mr Langsammer text messages to her, seen by the Bulletin, he writes “I didn’t feel comfortable for a bunch of 22yr (sic) olds so I cancelled and just did an airport run for $175.” In the messages between the two on April 4 Mr Langsammer alleges the “airport run” in the days following was the only booking during the period Ms Kidd’s car allegedly clocked up 2500kms.

Ms Kidd said Mr Langsammer first used her Range Rover Sport when she went overseas to Bali in December last year.

She claims her car was booked multiple times, and Mr Langsammer made regular payments to her of $400-$800.

But Ms Kidd says when she flew overseas on March 27, it appears her car was being used but she wasn’t paid.

“On the 26th he said he had a group booked for my car, said they were repeat customers and asked for my car that day.”

Ms Kidd claims when she got to the UK she still hadn’t heard from Mr Langsammer or received any payments.

“He said they didn’t rent it in the end and it was still sitting in his garage,” she said.

“I asked if he could take a picture of the kilometres and he wouldn’t, he kept making excuses.

“Then on Instagram this girl I know posted video of herself in my car.” The Bulletin has sighted that video. Ms Kidd said she reached out to the person who posted it and claimed she was told by the woman she “got it” off Mr Langsammer. The woman is not accused of any wrongdoing.

“I said that’s my car - why are you in my car? She said Jono gave it to me for a few days,” Ms Kidd claimed.

“I messaged Jono and said has anyone rented my car – he said no. I wrote to him saying I’d just seen a girl driving it around the Gold Coast.”

In texts, Mr Langsammer claimed the car was at his office the whole time. When Ms Kidd informed him she had seen someone driving it he responded saying the woman was Royalty staff and moving it to a secure location. The recording shows the car parked at Pacific Fair near EMF gym and the driver has a preworkout drink in hand plus list of errands. In an Instagram story two hours later the same person is taking a selfie in EMF gym’s bathroom.
