Tens of thousands of people are getting ready to celebrate the return of DJ Fisher’s “spectacular” festival, which he claims will be “bigger than ever”.
International sensation and homegrown talent Paul Fisher – also known as DJ Fisher – will headline his own two-day festival at Broadwater Parklands on Saturday and Sunday.
Despite its last-minute relocation from Surfers Paradise due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, Out 2 Lunch organisers said it was “still in the heart of the Goldy, just a new backdrop while our beach recovers”.
The weekend will be jam-packed with talent from around the world including English DJ Patrick Topping, Australian DJ Hayden James, LA-based artist Noizu and Gold Coast-based DJ Jake Smith.
On Sunday, English DJ Chris Lake, Australian producer DJ Boring, Gold Coast-based DJ Little Fritter and Australian DJ Shimmy will feature before Fisher’s headlining set.
“It’s the new Gold Coast marathon, just way more fun,” Shimmy said.
Gold Coasters who find the two-day festival isn’t enough can continue the party at Bedroom Nightclub in Surfers Paradise.
A Bedroom Nightclub social media post said local DJs would be playing until 5am and “you never know who might show up”.
Festivalgoers are urged to take public transport to and from Southport using the tram or free shuttle buses.
Trams will run on a quicker schedule from 9pm to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
“Rideshare, taxi and public transport are the best options for travelling to and from the event,” an Out 2 Lunch statement said.
“Be kind to the environment and leave the car at home.”
