A Gold Coast office block has been evacuated and multiple fire crews have responded to reports of a gas leak.
The automatic smoke alarms at the Nerang premises were triggered just before 8am on Tuesday alerting emergency services to the potential issue, a Queensland Fire Department spokesman said.
Four fire trucks responded to the scene at the City of Gold Coast Customer Service Centre on Southport Nerang Rd.
The QFD spokesman said the building had been evacuated before emergency services arrived on scene.
Fire crews conducted atmospheric monitoring in the basement of the property where the gas fumes had been reported.
All levels were normal and the property was cleared before 9am for staff to return to work.
There were no reports of any injuries.
