A new cafe designed for parents and their kids is serving up homemade brownies and fresh burek on the Gold Coast.
Marija Dimitric opened her first coffee shop, Mini & Me, in Mudgeeraba last month.
Ms Dimitric said the new cafe was inspired by her journey as a mother and her love for European-style cafes.
“I wanted to create a space where parents and children feel equally welcome,” she said.
“A beautiful, cosy environment where families can enjoy high-quality coffee, delicious homemade food and a touch of European charm.”
Ms Dimitric said she incorporated a blend of “the best of Serbian and Australian cuisine” at the new “cosy” cafe.
“Our fresh burek has been a huge hit. Customers love the variety, from classic cheese and meat to our sweet apple-raisin option,” she said.
“Our homemade brownies and cookies have also been very popular and we’re seeing a growing demand for our fresh, healthy salads and bowls.”
Organic coffee from The Roast Gallery Burleigh and freshly squeezed celery-based juice were also popular items.
“Every dish is made with love using the best ingredients,” Ms Dimitric said.
“The burek for example, is handmade just like you would find in Serbia and our baked goods are made fresh daily.”
Ms Dimitric said it had been a dream of hers to open a coffee shop, but it wasn’t until she found the space in Mudgeeraba that it became a reality.
“Mudgeeraba has such a wonderful community feel and it’s the perfect place for a family-friendly cafe,” she said.
“We wanted to be in a location that felt like home, where we could create a space for locals to gather, unwind and enjoy something special.”
