A midnight fireworks display has ended terribly after a firecracker struck a man in the face on the Gold Coast.
The man in his 20s was hit by part of the firework at a location off Nineteenth Ave, Palm Beach about 12.05am Sunday, a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said.
He was taken in a stable condition to the Gold Coast University Hospital with burns to his face.
