Man rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital after alleged assault in Mermaid Waters
A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after an alleged stabbing assault on the Gold Coast.

A young dad and race car identity has been rushed to hospital with stab wounds and serious injuries after allegedly being stabbed and hit with a hammer in a horrific attack on the Gold Coast.
The incident happened at a house at Mermaid Waters about 3am on Tuesday.
Paramedics arrived at the Sailaway St residence to find a 36-year-old man - now identified as racing identity Chris Pappas, who recently became a dad - with knife wounds to his thigh and head injuries.
It’s understood he had been struck in the head multiple times with a hammer.
Sources have said he was home at time with his partner and Mr Pappas wrestled with a pair of masked intruders.
He was taken by ambulance to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The victim and his alleged attackers are believed to be known to each other.
Police are investigating.
