A patisserie known for its almond croissants has expanded its empire, opening in one of the Gold Coast’s biggest shopping centres.
Le Bon Choix owner Savico Basset-Rouge debuted his 10th store at Robina Town Centre on Saturday.
Mr Basset-Rouge said he had been working towards his dream of owning a bakery for 20 years and, despite many setbacks, he was “thrilled” to have hit the milestone.
“Twenty years ago Queensland lacked the kind of bakery I envisioned and I decided it was time to change that,” he said.
“I was told by my mentors and professionals that I was crazy and I would fail.
“Despite that advice, I relocated to Brisbane and opened my first bakery.
“That moment marked the beginning of an incredible adventure.”
Mr Basset-Rouge said the Robina store was modelled off their Pacific Fair location, however it had an additional outdoor area.
“Every aspect of this store from the design and seating to the architectural details, it was thoughtfully crafted to ensure that customers feel truly welcomed,” he said.
“I think we’ve got what it takes to become a beloved local favourite. I’m genuinely excited about our future at Robina.”
Mr Basset-Rouge said freshly baked almond croissants were “without a doubt the star of the menu”.
“Our pastries are exceptional because we use the finest ingredients and they are crafted by highly skilled pastry chefs with extensive experience,” he said.
