Homegrown Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth has made a surprise appearance at one lucky small Chinese restaurant on the Gold Coast.
The Thor actor, 40, looked casual as he walked in the Carrara restaurant to order a duck dish, fried rice and a side of crispy chicken for breakfast.
Wok Temptation manager Rhey Panaligan said he was not expecting to cook for a superstar on Tuesday morning when Mr Hemsworth and his father dropped in for a feed.
“I was so shocked when he came and ordered in front of me, I knew it was him but I needed to confirm it was really him because I could not believe my eyes,” Mr Panaligan said.
“I had to check online and see what his tattoos look like and confirmed it was really him.”
“I was shaking, for me it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and to cook for Chris Hemsworth.”
The Chef, Wei Loon Ng, posted the picture of Hemsworth on social media on Tuesday afternoon, which shows him looking casual as he rocks a pair of thongs at the Boonooroo Shopping Centre.
“I was caught by surprise, Wei said, “Spare a thought for my friends from the hairdressers next door who didn’t notice him walk in our out”.
Mr Panaligan said Tuesday was the restaurant’s seven-year anniversary in Carrara.
“He even asked me for tap water, that for me was unexpected also,” he said.
“No one believed me until I showed the pictures to them.”
