December is also shaping up to be a bumper month, with 65 babies in the maternity ward and a further 12 expected before the end of 2021.
With more than 15 babies expected to be in the ward on Christmas Eves, photographer Heidi Talic created a Christmas wonderland where babies donned festive hats while wrapped in white and laid among red and gold baubles for a photo families will treasure.
Parents also receive a special ‘Bubba’s First Christmas’ keepsake box created by local business The Lovebox Co.
Born on December 16 at 36 weeks and six days, and weighing 2036g, Isabelle Patience Wade-Gledhill is the first baby for parents Nathan and Francesca.
“She was a little bit early, but the best Christmas present we have ever received,” said Mrs Wade-Gledhill.
“Isabelle is our first baby, and we are besotted. She is just gorgeous.”
“We will be spending Christmas with our extended family at home, which will be extra special.”
Maternity manager Judy Ross said the birth of a child was always special, and when it coincided with a major event, it was a great opportunity to combine the celebrations.
