A MERMAID WATERS man has been found dead inside a Gold Coast shed after he was crushed by a forklift.
Initially, Queensland Police stated the 78-year-old man died in a “workplace incident” on Fremantle St at Burleigh Heads.

But Workplace Health and Safety Queensland later told the Bulletin “this incident was not work-related and so WHSQ will not be investigating”.
The man was working inside the shed, but it is not considered a place of business.
The man’s body was discovered by a 78-year-old woman understood to be his wife about 7.10pm on Wednesday.
Police stated the man suffered “fatal injuries” in an “incident involving a forklift”.
Officers have determined there was no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Queensland Ambulance stated paramedics were called to the premises and assessed the man for “critical injuries”, but he was not taken to hospital.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
WOMAN, 18, INJURED IN GOLD COAST UNIT FALL
June 8: A young woman has suffered facial, head and abdominal injuries after falling three storeys from the balcony of a Gold Coast unit.
The 18-year-old female fell from the unit on Eugaree St, Southport, about 4.15am on Tuesday, a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokeswoman said.
She suffered head, facial and pelvic injuries.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel including critical care paramedics were called to the building after the fall from a balcony on the third floor and treated the woman, a spokeswoman said.
She was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have not launched any investigations after the incident.
GOLF BUGGY BINGLE LANDS PERSON IN COAST HOSPITAL
June 2: Paramedics have taken a person to hospital after a golf buggy collision on the Gold Coast.
Queensland Ambulance Service revealed in a statement paramedics were called to Glengallon Way at Hope Island about 6.41pm on Tuesday.
The female patient, of an undisclosed age, was assessed after the unusual crash before being taken to Pindara Private Hospital in a stable condition for observation.
Earlier, paramedics were called to a two-vehicle crash on the Old Pacific Highway at Oxenford about 6.20pm.
A stable patient, again of an undisclosed age, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
AMBOS RUSH TO SCENE AFTER WOMAN KICKED BY HORSE
June 1: A woman has been taken to hospital suffering head and shoulder injuries after she was kicked by a horse at a private property on the Gold Coast.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, including a high acuity crew, were called to the Nerang property about 11.10am on Tuesday, a spokesperson said.
