Superstar Gold Coast DJ Fisher has set the golf world alight by doing an infamous Australian shoey drink chug on the fairway mid-tournament as Aussie number one Cameron Smith cheers him on.
Smith who was mid-round at the LIV event in Adelaide bungled an attempted high-five with DJ Fisher who was pouring one of his own Hard FIZZ seltzers into his shoe on the fairway as Smith walked by.
Smith waved off the invite to neck the drink, laughing – as a security team appeared to try and tell the irrepressible Fisher not to do it.
Fisher then drains his shoe to cheers from the crowd at the 12th hole – also dubbed the tournament watering hole or party hole – before biffing his shoe as far as he could into a sand bunker. All the while a security guard was half heartedly yelling ‘don’t do it … no … no’.
“It was absolute mayhem out there but when in Rome or Adelaide what do you do? You whip out a FIZZ and try and do a shoey with Cameron Smith,” Fisher said.
“He’s a legend but when he left me hanging I thought let’s give the people what they want.
“Golf fans are unbelievable.”
DJ fisher posted the clip to Instagram and is has surged passed more than 3 million views.
