A Gold Coast man will face court after allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs before a crash in the city’s north.

A Gold Coast man will face court after allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs before a serious crash in the city’s north.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Norwell Rd in Norwell at around 5pm on Sunday.
A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said a grey Hyundai Santa Fe and a white Jeep Wrangler collided while driving along Norwell Rd near Eggersdorf Rd.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and assessed the driver and passenger of the Jeep who sustained minor injuries.
The spokesperson said the 40-year-old man who was driving the Hyundai returned a positive roadside drug test.
The Stapylton man was given a notice to appear for the offence of driving while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva.
He is due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 29.
