A familiar face on the Gold Coast food scene has opened a new venue which he says is “taking the humble Yorkshire pudding to the next level”.
Former Burleigh Social owner Dennis Duncanson debuted The Yorkie Rippa in Nobby Beach on August 20.
As a “Londoner” himself, Mr Duncanson said he felt it was “time to bring a bit of Britain to the Gold Coast”.
“The yorkie burrito concept has taken London by storm and we wanted to make our own take on the concept, taking the humble Yorkshire pudding to the next level,” he said.
He said their yorkie was filled with crispy rosemary potatoes, glazed carrots, baby spinach and cauliflower bake with the choice of roast lemon and garlic chicken or braised beef brisket.
Mr Duncanson said Nobby Beach was the perfect location to “create a cosy, comfortable space that feels like home and has a taste of the UK”.
“Nobby’s is a great location, lots of loyal locals, loads of visitors and it’s the place to be at the moment,” he said.
Only three days after opening, the venue had proved a hit.
Diner Claire Phunk said on Instagram: “Oh my god it was sensational. Don’t even get me started on that slab of pork and crackling you kindly gifted me”.
Another visitors said: “Make the trip, you won’t be disappointed”.
