A popular seafood restaurant has reopened its doors after being bought by Sanctuary Cove Resort owner Mulpha.

Anchor Buoy, which is in the area’s Marine Village, has been substantially refurbished by its new owners since its closure in late August.

It also has a new menu overseen by Mulpha’s Queensland executive chef Mark Marshall, including crumbed snapper schnitzel, roast scallops with chorizo crumble and garlic butter, and cold smoked chicken salad.

“Our aim is to reflect the spirit of Sanctuary Cove, providing great food and service at unpretentious prices for locals, boaties and tourists alike, whether they are popping in for a quick bite or relaxing in the sea breeze with a nice cool drink,” Mr Marshall said.

Mulpha’s regional general manager for Queensland Sean Robertson said they were aiming to provide “exceptional food and service” at the venue.

“Anchor Buoy joins our Ioesco restaurant and the Sanctuary Cove Tavern as iconic local venues we are investing in to create a contemporary food and beverage scene that helps make Sanctuary Cove a great place to live and international tourist destination,” Mr Robertson said.

The restaurant adds to a rapidly expanding portfolio on the Gold Coast for Mulpha, which purchased the Capri Via Roma shopping centre on Isle of Capri for $70m in June.

The group also owns Edgewater Dining and The Fish Emporium at the centre.
