At least seven Gold Coast roles are reportedly on the chopping block amid major radio company cuts - including familiar on-air voices and longtime staff.

Multiple well-known Gold Coast radio voices and long-serving staff are among those impacted by Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) latest round of job cuts.

Australia’s largest radio network is to axe dozens of positions nationwide, with sources suggesting at least seven roles will be lost on the Gold Coast as part of ongoing cost-cutting measures.

Sources say among the cuts are long-time employees within 92.5 Triple M’s content and promotins departments.

In an all-staff email on Thursday SCA CEO John Kelly said the budget cuts impact “discretionary spend, programming, corporate overheads, and regrettably our workforce”.

“This means there will be further redundancies within the company,” he said.

SCA owns the Triple M and Hit networks.

The job cuts were announced just seven days before SCA releases its first half financial results.

Triple M’s Elliott Lovejoy - co-host of Deadset Legends with Ben Hannant - is among those informed this morning his “full-time services will no longer be required”.

Elliott posted to social media on Thursday: “After nearly seven wonderful years at Triple M, I was informed this morning my full time services will no longer be required.

“Not bitter, just sad. But that’s business baby.”

Elliott was previously apart of Triple M’s Rush Hour with A.B and Elliott - the network’s Queensland Drive Show.

It was announced last year they wouldn’t return in 2025, as it made way for a newly networked Drive offering, hosted by Marty Sheargold.

Lovejoy is the grandson of the late George Lovejoy, a legendary Queensland rugby league commentator.

It is understood Lovejoy, who has been with the company for almost seven years, will continue his role with Hannant

Hannant told this masthead: “Nothing changes with our show. Elliott is too talented to lose. I’m sure he’s going to land on his feet.”

The pre-recorded Saturday morning show, which airs on the Gold Coast from 8am to 11am, covers local footy, sporting deep dives, and community stories.

More to come.
