CEO Rosemary Derwin is determined to have Girl Guiding stay relevant in today’s society for a growing number of enrolments.
“There’s definitely a resurgence of interest,” she said.
“It’s a way … to combat the pressures of busy digital life, explore who they are and discover what they’re passionate about.
“Girls create friendships, build resilience, gain valuable life skills and have different types of adventures.”
Over the years the activities and tasks Guides participate in have increased and diversified to keep up with a rapidly evolving society.
“In years gone by, girls may have done more home-based activities, however, these days we’re looking at how girls can further themselves in different ways,” Ms Derwin said.
