Emergency services raced to the scene of another skydiving jump gone wrong on Saturday morning.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper and lower body injuries.

On Monday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said the woman was in a stable condition.

It’s understood the woman sustained a broken ankle and a back injury during a routine training jump.

More to come.

A woman has been flown to hospital in Melbourne after another skydiving accident near Geelong.

The incident is the latest in a string of local jumps gone wrong in recent years.

Paramedics were called to the Torquay airport on Blackgate Rd about 10.30am on Saturday.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed a woman in her 50s suffered injuries to her upper and lower body.

She has been flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

It’s understood Sky One operates skydiving at the Torquay airport.

There have been multiple skydiving accidents across our region, including earlier this year in January when an experienced solo jumper was flown to The Alfred hospital after an incident at Skydive Great Ocean Road on Barwon Heads Rd.

The man was unable to slow his canopy adequately at the time of landing and hit the ground hard.

In February last year, an experienced skydiver was performing a solo jump when he had a hard landing and was badly hurt.

His parachute opened and functioned normally but he suffered lower-body injuries and was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.

In October 2023, a skydiving plane carrying a pilot and 16 solo jumpers crashed on the shores of Lake Connewarre.

Seven people were taken to hospital, including three who suffered spinal injuries.

Frankston Labor MP Paul Edbrooke was among those injured and he underwent multiple tests including X-rays and CT scans.

The plane made a forced landing after coming into difficulty after taking off from Barwon Heads.

In a separate incident, a solo skydiving student suffered spinal injuries after a hard landing near the Torquay airport in October 2022.

Mark Hanna, 34, died in July 2022 after he attempted his first jump in a wingsuit near Connewarre.

Mr Hanna had completed multiple skydives previously, however his parachute failed to deploy, according to the Australian Parachute Federation (APF)

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing and only that the accidents have occurred.

Sky One and APF were contacted for comment.
