Geelong residents living near an alarming series of alleged prowling and peeping Tom offences have been asked to check home security and dash cam footage as police ramp up their search for a disturbing night stalker.
A man, believed to be the same offender, has been seen attempting to enter at least a dozen homes in the Rippleside, Bell Post Hill, and Bell Park areas with more disturbing footage emerging online.
It comes as a Bell Post Hill resident claims the offender had gained access to a property and spent “six minutes” inside the house while its occupants slept upstairs.
The alleged offender has been seen lurking around in the early hours of the morning, between 3am and 5am, equipped with dark gloves, a dark face mask and hat.
Petrified residents have reported him in multiple streets prowling around homes and attempting to break in from at least January 30.
In one frightening video the man can be seen creeping up to a front door, peering inside a window before opening an unlocked security door.
He then appears to attempt to gain entry to the house.
A fresh Victorian Police statement has urged anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage “or any information” about the alleged offences to contact Crime Stoppers or submit a confidential online report.
“The investigation remains ongoing.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or a confidential report can be made at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
