Passers-by find man dead in the water off Geelong’s foreshore
A man was found dead in Corio Bay on Geelong’s waterfront about 7am Sunday morning.

A man has been found dead at Geelong’s waterfront on Sunday morning.
It appears passers-by made the grim discovery, spotting the man’s body in Corio Bay.
A Victoria Police spokesman said officers responded to reports of a man found deceased in the water off Eastern Beach Rd about 7am.
Mystery still surrounds the circumstances of the fatality and the identity of the victim but police at this stage do not believe it is suspicious.
Eastern Beach Rd extends from the Promenade at Eastern Beach to The Carousel near Cunningham Pier. It is not yet clear along which part of the popular stretch the man was found.
The spokesman said police would prepare a report for the coroner following the death.
“The man is yet to be formally identified,” he said.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined but the matter is not believed to be suspicious.”
