Man dies after Torquay beach tragedy at Cosy Corner
Police have now identified the man who died in a tragic accident at Torquay over the weekend.

A man who died after an incident at a Torquay beach on Saturday has been formally identified by police.
Police said the man was a 60-year-old from Torquay.
Three ambulance units were called to Cosy Corner in the popular Surf Coast town at about 9.45am Saturday after he was pulled unresponsive from the water.
A Victoria Police spokesman said a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Paramedics and members of the public performed CPR for an extended period as a large group of beachgoers watched on.
It appeared several bystanders were assisting ambulance officers in their efforts to save the person.
Several of those standing nearby were dressed in wetsuits and swimming caps and were visibly distressed.
“Members of the public performed CPR on the man, but it was unsuccessful,” a police statement read.
While the day was clear and sunny, the ocean was choppy because of south-easterly winds.
Cosy Corner is a sheltered beach popular with families and ocean swimmers.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
