Two women have been arrested after allegedly attempting to steal $1600 worth of tools from Bunnings in Torquay.

Two women have been arrested after allegedly attempting to steal $1600 worth of tools from Bunnings in Torquay on Monday night.
Police were called to the store on Beacon Blvd about 7pm after reports the women had left the store without paying for the items.
Acting Sergeant Trent McLure said the women were loading the stolen tools into their car when they were arrested by Torquay officers.
A 34-year-old woman from Clifton Springs and a 33-year-old woman from Corio were charged with theft and will face the Geelong Magistrates Court on August 8.
Sergeant McLure said officers across the Surf Coast, including Torquay, Lorne and Anglesea, were targeting various locations in an effort to stop thefts.
