A big lottery win has spelled retirement for an Ocean Grove man.
The man and his wife, who did not want to be named, held one of the 16 division one winning entries in Tattslotto draw 4337, drawn on February 11.
The couple scored $1,250,000 and have since struggled to sleep.
Speaking to an official from The Lott on Monday, the woman said she was in “total shock” about her prize.
“I discovered the win on Sunday morning when I scanned my TattsLotto ticket,” she said.
“We didn’t sleep very well.
“We had quite a sleepless night.”
The woman said while she was still going to work, the major win had pushed her husband to resign from his job.
“I decided I still have a bit in me, but he has called it quits,” she said.
“It’s hard to not to say anything and still go to work.”
The woman said she had been playing the same marked entry for “a long time”.
“It was a very long time ago that I chose those numbers,” she said.
“I’m glad I did.
“The world is our oyster at this point.”
The couple’s winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Ocean Grove Post Lotto and Gifts at Ocean Grove Marketplace.
The winning numbers in draw 4337 on Saturday were four, 21, seven, 20, 22 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 16 and 17.
There were 16 division one winning entries in the draw across Australia, including six in Victoria.
