Geelong’s best kinder, daycare teacher for 2025

Geelong families have nominated more than 200 “warm and authentic” Geelong's early childhood education stars – now they are vying for ultimate recognition in a community vote. Vote for the region’s best now.

Nominations are in for Geelong’s top early childhood educator, with teachers praised as “warm” and “authentic” in the competitive search.

More than 200 teachers from across the region were put forward in The Geelong Advertiser’s search for the region’s best kindergarten or childcare centre teacher for 2025.

Christian College’s Williams House teacher Mimi Wong said across the region daycare and kindergarten teachers were supportiveand passionate about their work.

Ms Wong added the best things about her job were “watching the children’s growth” and “building relationships”.

2022 competition winner Steph Butler said Ms Wong had joined their team as a graduate three years ago, and was known for her “authentic and genuine” character.

“She’s the type of person who just makes beautiful connections with the parents and families,” she said.

“She’s young, and full of ideas and enthusiasm.”

We have relaunched the Best of Geelong series to help our readers discover the incredible businesses and individuals in our community. The way it works is in three stages:

1. We put out an initial call for nominations over a two-day period. This happens on our various social media accounts as well as on our website.

2. After nominations close we open the voting stage on our website. The businesses or individuals that received the highest number of nominations will progress to the voting stage. The voting stage runs for one week.

3. Once voting has closed a winner will be announced on our website usually a few days after the voting stage concludes. At the same time we will also announce up to nine other businesses with the highest amount of votes in the poll.
