A Geelong ketamine dealer who broke into a Norlane car lot to siphon petrol was also found with a rainbow assortment of ecstasy pills in Melbourne’s CBD.

Jake Limb, 25, appeared in the Geelong Magistrates Court via prison link on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to 34 charges including trafficking ketamine.

Seven other charges were withdrawn upon his plea.

Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Denise Frame told the court Limb was driving his Nissan Patrol and towing a motorbike in a trailer when he was intercepted by police on Harpur Rd in Corio on October 25 at 3.20am.

The motorbike had no registration plate, the court heard, and was reported stolen the next day.

On December 22, Melbourne police found Limb face down on Collins St at 4.43am.

They attempted to rouse him. Limb became “verbally combative” when he woke and resisted arrest, Constable Frame said.

Three ziplock bags of ketamine, as well as six yellow, one orange and fourteen blue MDMA tablets and multiple empty ziplock bags were found in his possession.

On Sunday February 8, Limb and a co-accused broke into Joffa’s Mechanical Repairs on Station St, Norlane, to siphon petrol from cars.

They were caught by police and arrested, with a search of Limb’s nearby car revealing items including GHB and a total of 10.93g of ice

Limb’s phone revealed numerous text messages regarding the sale of ketamine, the court heard. Limb told police pictures in these conversations were from the internet and he was using them to “scam someone”.

On March 7, Limb was driving a small black electric motorbike on the wrong side of Bacchus Marsh Rd in Corio just after midnight, with no lights or indicators on.

Patrolling officers saw Limb riding towards them in their lane, before Limb swerved over the median strip away from the police, resulting in a brief chase.

He was found with ice, ketamine, several MDMA tablets, 17 MDMA caps, and 20 film strips of suboxone.

He told police the drugs were for personal use, and that he had fled because he “got scared” as he was on bail and “not meant to be out”, the court heard.

On March 26, Limb breached his curfew conditions and a search of his car and person again revealed drugs – ice, weed, GHB and multiple ecstasy tablets, along with an extendible baton.

He told police he took the baton with him because a friend of his had recently been stabbed and killed.

Following the summaries of his offending been read to the court, Limb’s lawyer, Courtney Eldridge tendered a number of submissions including a psychological report.

She highlighted Limb’s diagnoses of depression and ADHD, and said Limb conceded the offences were serious, wasn’t taking them lightly and was remorseful.

Magistrate Gerard Bryant adjourned the matter part-heard, telling Limb, who was supported in court by his family, he will be assessed for a community corrections order (CCO), but he will be serving more time in prison in the meantime.

Limb will return to court for further submissions and sentencing on June 3.
