Geelong detectives launch probe into Norlane home invasion

Four people, including two children, were attacked in a disturbing home invasion on Friday night, with detectives on the hunt for a trio of bandits who fled the scene in a car.

Geelong CIU have launched an investigation into the troubling incident in Norlane.

Three unknown offenders, believed to be armed, are alleged to have broken into the Portland St property at about 10pm.

Senior Constable Claudia Quadara said officers were told they then assaulted the occupants.

“The offenders then fled the scene in a vehicle,” she said.

One man, 41, was rushed to hospital as a result of his injuries.

A 34-year-old man and 12-year-old boy sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention, according to an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman.

Another boy, 11, was not injured during the attack.

One nearby resident, who did not want to be named, said she saw a number of police vehicles arrive at the house last night.

“I’m not sure what has happened,” she said.
