The Geelong Cats have welcomed another kitten to the team, with the arrival of Jack and Britt Martin’s second baby Jett Maxwell Martin last week.
The couple welcomed Jett on Wednesday, making them a family of four along with their one-year-old daughter Rosie.
They took to social media on Saturday night to announce the birth, tagging obstetrician, gynaecologist, fertility and IVF specialist Dr Joseph Sgroi and the Epworth Freemason’s in Melbourne, where Jett was born.
The couple said their daughter Rosie, who was born in December 2022, was yet to meet the newest family member on Saturday, with the exciting welcome scheduled for Sunday.
“Everyone’s asking me how Rosie’s handling the arrival of Jett,” Britt Martin said on Instagram on Saturday.
“She’s lapping up the only child attention for one more day.”
Cats player Bailey Smith said Martin had been training well during his first week at Geelong, even with the excitement of having baby Jett arrive.
“Jack has slotted in really well, I know he had a baby (this week) so it has been a busy week for him, but still managing to train and perform as well as we expect him to,” Smith said.
“He is just an awesome man to talk to, just really relaxed and caring.”
The family’s official announcement was followed by congratulations on the Cats’ social media.
“The Geelong Cats’ New kitten at the Cattery Congratulations to Jack and Britt on the arrival of Jett!” the post read.
Martin signed with the Cats in November on a two-year deal as a delisted free agent, the medium sized forward choosing Geelong over Fremantle.
Across 11 seasons in the AFL, the 29-year-old has played 151 games, with both Gold Coast (97 games) and Carlton (54 games) in numerous roles, but particularly excelling as a forward kicking 133 goals across his career.
