Fears grow for missing Mount Duneed man Bradley Davies

Specialist police have ended their search around the Barwon River for a much-loved man who’s disappearance has been described by family as “out of character”.

The desperate family of a missing Mount Duneed man has raised concerns about his “out of character” disappearance as police scramble to retrace his last known steps.

It comes as an extensive river search involving the air wing, drone unit, mounted branch and water police, was called off on Friday afternoon.

Waurn Ponds Senior Sergeant Kylie Power said police were now satisfied Bradley Davies was no longer in the Barwon River area after failing to locate any trace of the 35-year-old.

The investigation would now shift to retracing his movements in the hours before be vanished.

Mr Davies was captured on CCTV entering Corner Boxing Co gym on Balliang St in South Geelong about 8.30am on Wednesday.

A Victoria Police spokesman said “Police and family have concerns for Bradley’s welfare as his disappearance is out of character”.

On Thursday afternoon a police helicopter was seen hovering along the Barwon River, between Tucker St in Breakwater and Queens Park Rd in Newtown.

Despite the extensive search involving multiple specialist units, authorities have so far failed to find any sign of him.

Mr Davies’ sister Sharn Pune wrote on Facebook, “Please, if anyone has seen my brother please contact Waurn Ponds police.”

A number of the public responded to her urgent post offering to help join the search or sending their well-wishes for Mr Davies safe return.

Investigators are appealing to the public for information into his whereabouts.

Mr Davies is described by police as “Pacific Islander/Māori appearance, 180cm tall, unshaven with short dark hair”.

He was last seen wearing black shorts, black runners, black T-shirt and a black cap with a white logo in the centre.
