Valentine’s Day love is set to be firmly focused on a Lorne beach on Friday as two Colac-based lovebirds tie the knot.

Local Valentine’s Day love is set to be firmly focused on Lorne on Friday as Colac-based lovebirds Jesse O’Keefe and Tahlia Whytcross tie the knot in front of about 80 of their nearest and dearest.

And love is well and truly in the air.

The two met at the Bulla factory in Colac, dating for seven years before Mr O’Keefe popped the question following a romantic weekend away.

The significance around Valentines Day is real for the couple, and the pair have a special connection with the number four.

“We’re both born on the fourth, I asked her out on the fourth, and I proposed on her birthday,” Mr O’Keefe said.

“The fourth was booked out at the venue, so we just decided to chuck a one in front of it.

“Hopefully it means I’ll never forget an anniversary.”

The ceremony will be at the Peak at Lorne Country Club, a venue the pair picked due to its beauty and proximity to their home in Torquay.

“Our friends are treating it as a destination wedding,” Mr O’Keefe said.

“They’re coming from all over and making a weekend out of it.”

Friends and family will then stay down and enjoy a “recovery day” on the Sunday.

Ms Whytcross said the pair of “perfectionists” have spent plenty of time organising their day.

“It’s taken hundreds of hours,” she said.

“We’ve been planning it for 18-months, since he proposed, the last couple of months have been full on.”
