A collision involving a truck and car on the Bellarine Hwy, Wallington has left one person in hospital.

A person is in hospital following a crash between a truck and car on a notorious stretch of a highway at Wallington.
The two-vehicle collision is understood to have occurred around 6.30am on Thursday, on the Bellarine Hwy.
A CFA spokesman said two CFA units alongside FRV responded to reports of the accident on Bellarine Highway at around 6.34am.
He said the crews arrived to find a car and a truck involved in the incident.
Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed one person had been transported to Geelong University Hospital.
The scene was deemed under control at 6.47am.
Earlier this year, a coronial investigation revealed poor road conditions and wet weather led to the death of an elderly Belmont man on the Bellarine Hwy.
Frank Baker, 77, died when a truck travelling on the Bellarine Highway in Wallington lost control, crossed the median strip and slammed into his silver van on May 3, 2023.
It remains unclear when the Transport Department plans to fix the road’s surface.
In 2018, an elderly driver was flown to hospital after rolling his car and crashing into a pole along the same stretch of road.
In March a Drysdale woman was killed and five more people injured after a major collision on the Bellarine Hwy in Moolap.
