Former Cats chief executive Brian Cook has announced he will step down as Barwon Health chairman.
The state government announced his appointment back in 2017.
At Barwon Health’s annual meeting on Tuesday, Mr Cook made the announcement that he would leave the role at the end of his term in June.
“I have served as a director for seven years on the Barwon Health board, and six of those as chair,” Mr Cook said.
Prior to that, he served on the Barwon Health Foundation board for two years.
“My nine years here have been a good stint,” he said.
He will leave the board as well as the chair role.
Mr Cook, who is now chief executive at Carlton Football Club, said he had always felt in awe of the staff at Barwon Health.
Chief executive Frances Diver thanked Mr Cook for his support.
“Brian has been a steadfast support as chair … I thank Brian for his work and wish him well for the future,” she said.
