Explosions were heard coming from a Mount Duneed home that caught fire late Sunday.
A Fire Rescue Victoria spokeswoman said three FRV crews and several CFA crews responded to a house fire on Whites Rd.
FRV firefighters arrived at the scene at 6pm, after reports that a double storey house was well alight, with explosions heard coming from the property.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters conducted a search of the building, finding no occupants were inside,” the spokeswoman said.
“FRV and CFA crews worked together to attack the fire, bringing it under control by 6.25pm.
“Victoria Police attended the scene to manage traffic, and a gas company attended.
“A council building surveyor was notified of the incident.”
The cause was not being treated as suspicious, and an investigation was ongoing.
