A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing that left a trail of blood in a business district of Geelong West.
Trey Alderson, 21, fronted Geelong Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with armed robbery, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury and assault with a
It is alleged the victim, a 27-year-old North Geelong man, was stabbed on June 24 near the intersection of Pakington St and Lawton Ave about 2am.
It’s understood he then took himself to a property in Saywell St near Western Oval, where he called triple-0.
He was expected to appear before Geelong Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
A trail of blood, leading from the Pakington Village arcade toward Waratah St, marked the pavement at the scene hours after the incident.
Bec Mrad, who works at nearby Poco Cafe, said she arrived at work about 6.30am on June 24 to find the arcade “trashed”.
She said the fountain had been kicked over and the metal around the fire hose had been dismantled – both in what appeared to be aggressive acts of vandalism.
It’s not known if this was related to the stabbing.
Alderson was remanded in custody and is expected to next front court on September 23.
