A Leopold mum is pleading for help to find the “missing children” that she says are failed by a system unwilling to help them, after her 16-year-old son went missing for five days.
Archie, who grew up in Drysdale, was missing from Monday until Friday afternoon.
All the while his mother Kendall Lester said she was ‘terrified’ for his safety.
“Come home and fight with me to fight for you,” she said just hours before his return.
The Leopold mum of four boys said Archie had Autism, ADHD and a mild intellectual disability.
“He is complex, but he’s mine and I love him and he’s important and special,” she said.
“I want him alive, happy and thriving.
We need services that are prepared to step in for the complex kids.”
It comes as a child and teen, both last seen in Lara, have been missing for more than a week, with police concerned for their wellbeing.
The pair, 11-year-old Kira-Amber and 15-year-old Alanah, was last seen in Lara on Wednesday April 16.
A Victoria police spokesperson said they were concerned due to their age and amount of time they’ve been missing.
“Kira-Amber was last seen wearing a Collingwood Football Club shirt,” the spokesperson said.
“It’s not known what Alanah was wearing.”
It’s understood investigators believe the pair frequent the Wyndham Vale and Melton South areas.
Anyone with information on Kira-Amber or Alanah is urged to contact Corio Police Station on (03) 5273 9555.
Anyone with information on Archie should contact Werribee Police Station (03) 9742 9444.
