Premiership defender Jack Henry said he would love to play alongside his brother Ollie in 2023, but he had not started pitching a move to Geelong yet.
The Magpie forward is uncontracted for 2023 and is reportedly weighing up a move back to the Geelong region where he played his junior football.
Jack said he had not rubbed in the premiership win to his brother just yet.
“It was nice to be able to share Saturday with him, both of my brothers were there at the game with my mum and dad,” he said.
“To share that moment with them and my friends is the best part of the whole journey, it makes all the hard work worth it.
“I’m very close with my family, so to be in that moment with them makes it more special.
“There’s always been the chat about Ollie coming down, but I’m trying to enjoy my week and it has been the last thing on my mind.
“It’s his decision to make, I’m sure the family wants him, they would love to have him down here and I’m sure the talk will start soon.”
It looms as a busy trade period for Geelong, with former Newtown & Chilwell junior Tanner Bruhn also reportedly keen to move back to Geelong after two seasons at GWS.
Geelong is also reportedly interested in Sun Jack Bowes, who is owed approximately $850,000 a year until the end of 2024.
Gold Coast is expected to pair the dashing defender with the prized seventh selection at the 2022 AFL draft in an attempt to free up cap space for star midfield pair Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson.
The Cats are just one of a number of teams reportedly interested in securing the pairing of Bowes and pick 7, with Hawthorn, St Kilda and Essendon all showing interest at different times.
If Geelong won the race for Bowes’ services, and landed pick 7 for taking on the reported $1.7 million still owing to the defender, the Cats would enter the draft at their earliest point since landing Kane Tenace in 2003.
Queenscliff local and Geelong Falcon captain Jhye Clark is expected to be selected in the first 10 picks of the draft, and recently said he would love to play for the Cats.
“It’d be very exciting getting drafted to Geelong, having grown up here and having family and friends there,” he said.
“Realistically I would go anywhere, you can’t change where you go and when you’re in a position like mine you just want to end up on a list and realise that dream.”
