The Great Humpty Ball 2025 in Darwin was a night filled with laughter, tears and extreme generosity as the Humpty Dumpty Foundation celebrated raising over half a million dollars at the event.
On a Mindil Beach Casino Resort backdrop lit by a beautiful Top End sunset on Friday, guests dressed in high glittery and glamorous fashion to celebrate and support the organisation.
By the end of the event hosted by Humpty’s Patron, Johanna Griggs AM, over $520,000 was raised to help provide essential medical equipment and healthcare intiaitives to Northern Territory hospitals and healthcare services.
Humpty Dumpty Foundation founder, Paul Francis OAM, said the money raised was a testament to the generosity in the NT.
“It is because of this generosity that we can keep taking steps towards closing the gap and ensuring lifesaving care in the Northern Territory is provided close to home,” he said.
“As they work to give Northern Territory kids the best chance at life, our doctors and nurses deserve the same equipment and support found in every other state.”
Award-winning journalist, Ray Martin, who received a prestigious award at Government House on Thursday for his contribution to Territory health, was again celebrated.
The patron for the foundation received a present from Mr Francis and also from NT Health Minister, Steve Edgington.
In a speech, Mr Edgington thanked Mr Martin for his passionate support of the Territory in his 34 years as a patron for the organisation.
“Tonight we come together to celebrate the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and the amazing work it does to provide life saving healthcare and support to children right across the Northern Territory,” he said.
“I want to take a moment to pay special tribute to someone who has been crticial to that mission and a champion of health in the territory for more than three decades and that’s Mr Ray Martin AM.
“Under his leadership around 950 pieces of vital medical equipment worth more than nine million dollars has been delivered across 72 of our health services here in the Northern Territory with more than 60 per cent reaching remote and regional areas.
“This means that communities like Katherine, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy and Alice Springs can now access high quality care closer to home.
“His advocacy has given a voice to remote NT communities ensuring they received essential treatment and health care.
“Ray, you’ve left a lasting legacy in the Territory and the Territory will be forever grateful for your generosity, support and kindness.”
