Footage of cyclist, postie fight goes viral

The heated exchanged has gone wild online, with the pair trading punches in the street.

A wild fight between a postie and a cyclist has been caught on camera, with the pair squaring off in the street, punching one another and even throwing a spanner.

The footage was posted by TikTok user Codey Lamos, who managed to capture the heated exchange from his apartment window on the Gold Coast on Friday.

“Mr Postman 1 Cyclist 0,” he captioned the footage.

In the video, the cyclist can be seen punching the delivery driver’s side mirror before the pair begin yelling at each other.

The postman can be heard saying “I don’t want to fight just go away” before the cyclist accuses him of throwing his phone at him on the road.

They both begin throwing punches at each other before the postman tells him to: “Just leave”.

At one point during the exchange the postman appears to throw his scanner at the cyclist.

The postman tries to get into his van, but the cyclist repeatedly closes the door onto the delivery driver’s legs.

As the postman drives away, the cyclist takes a swing at his side mirror.

Mr Lamos said from what he could gather, the fight happened after the delivery driver “cut off” the cyclist on the road.

He said the cyclist was bleeding after the exchange but rode off on his bike.

Many in the comments came out in defence of the driver.

“I know the postie came out on top but I still feel bad for him. Noone should be treated like this at work,” one user wrote.

“He tried to stop so many times but cyclist wouldn’t listen and he pushed the door on him. I would have went off.”

Many were also impressed by the postman’s fighting ability.

“Good on you posty! Throwing mad hits!” one wrote.

Another wrote: “I feel like postie was really trying hard not to let his inner mortal combat out but for a few moments there it was evident, this wasn’t his first fight.”
