Woodridge fire: Two injured including one seriously as blaze engulfs Brisbane home

Two people were injured and multiple crews were required to bring a fierce blaze under control that has engulfed a home at Woodridge in Brisbane’s south this morning.
At around 9.40am three fire crews arrived on the scene on the corner of Minoa St and Mullen St, which was well-involved upon their arrival.
The fire is now under control but the single-story house has been gutted and two patients have been treated at the scene.
A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition with significant burns to his arms, legs and face and another a stable female in her 20s has been treated for burns.
Thick smoke was billowing out of the house before flames started licking the sides of the house and neighbours says there was a strong smell of plastic.

The man had visible injuries with hair on one side of his head burned.
He was in a great deal of pain and very emotional.
He was taken in an ambulance while paramedics treated a woman at the scene.
The woman was taken to a neighbouring yard and police were seen hosing her down.
They tried to put her on a stretcher but she was so badly burned she couldn’t lie down.
Neighbours said the house took more than 20 minutes to bring under control.
Children do live at the house but they were not seen at the scene.
Mullen St remains closed with fire, police and ambulance crews still at the scene.
