A unit block was evacuated due to a strong chemical smell at Windsor in Brisbane’s north on Friday afternoon.

Around 1.30pm, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Ambulance Services (QAS) were called to the residence on Eildon Rd.

Five QFES crews remained at the unit block while a scientific team continued to investigate the smell as of 4.20pm.

Everyone has been accounted for.

The top floor of the building is understood to be declared safe but the source of the odour is yet to be confirmed.

QFES crews are still investigating the bottom floor and QAS have left the scene.

Nobody was injured.
