Two people have been taken to hospital in a serious condition after becoming trapped in the wreckage of a serious crash.

Emergency services were called to the crash at Gailes just after 11am Sunday after reports a vehicle had crashed into another car near Old Logan Rd and Waterford Rd.

It is understood the car which crashed into the second vehicle continued travelling before it rolled over.

Two Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews used cutting gear to remove the occupants from both vehicles.

Paramedics transported two patients in serious conditions to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

One patient was a woman in her 70s with knee and pelvis injuries and the other patient was a man in his 70s with neck and chest injuries.
