Teen critical after alleged stolen car crashes into tree in north Queensland
A 17-year-old boy is fighting for life while a teen driver fled the scene after a stolen car crashed into a tree near Cairns.

Three teenagers were injured, one critically, when an allegedly stolen car lost control and crashed in north Queensland Monday afternoon.
Police say the car crashed into a tree at the intersection of Barney St and Farmer St, Edmonton, about 5.30pm, before a 14-year-old boy alleged to have been behind the wheel fled, leaving a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy injured in the car.
The 17-year-old sustained critical injuries while the girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police found the 14-year-old a short distance away and took him to Cairns Base Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 17-year-old was also taken to Cairns Base Hospital in a critical condition.
Police say initial investigations indicate the car was stolen from Kuranda just before 4pm Monday.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and no charges have been laid.
