Tributes for Taylor Benton-Shaw after D’Aguilar Highway crash
A man has been remembered as someone who made the world a better place after he died in hospital following a horror single-vehicle highway crash.
Loved ones of a young Sunshine Coast man “full of love” have shared their heartbreak after a tragic highway incident took his life.
Taylor Benton-Shaw died in hospital on Wednesday afternoon after he suffered critical injuries in a single-vehicle crash earlier that day in Wamuran on the D’Aguilar Highway.
Reece Nagel took to social media to pay tribute to one of his “best mates”.
Mr Nagel described Mr Benton-Shaw as “full of life” and the happiest person he had ever met.
He said Mr Benton-Shaw put a smile on everyone’s faces whenever he entered a room.
“You always looked out for your friends because that’s the person you were. Full of love,” Mr Nagel wrote.
“I love you my brother and always will. May your soul go to heaven and rest.”
In the comments, Olivia Took said Mr Benton-Shaw was one of the nicest people she had met.
“RIP,” she wrote.
“Always lit up the room,” Rachel Cook added.
Ill Son also paid tribute to the Bli Bli man.
“Fly high brother RIP,” he wrote in a post.
Callum Tapp posted his own message.
“Although this world ain’t perfect, it sure was better with you in it mate,” he said.
“RIP my boy.”
Police said that around 6.30am on Wednesday November 26, emergency services responded to reports a white Range Rover had crashed into a tree along the D’Aguilar Highway.
The driver and sole occupant of the Range Rover, a 25-year-old Bli Bli man, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
He succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on Wednesday afternoon.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
