Major delays after traffic incident at Toowong, motorcycle crash at Annerley

Motorists are being warned of significant ongoing delays as police investigate a serious crash at Toowong this morning.

Motorists faced ongoing delays after a serious crash on the Frederick St flyover near the Toowong roundabout in Brisbane’s inner west this morning.

Police closed lanes as they investigated the cause of the crash, which involved a vehicle veering on to the wrong side of the road and slamming into a barrier about 8.10am.

Police advised motorists of significant delays along Frederick St, Boundary Rd and Jubilee Terrace in Bardon.

A man in his 40s was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson.

It is understood he may have suffered a medical episode.

Police are also appealing to anyone that was driving through Duke and Juliette Street in Annerley this morning around 7.40am at the time of a crash involving a motorcyclist and a white van.

In a statement, they announced that the Forensic Crash Unit are looking for dashcam and witnesses.

The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man from Tarragindi, was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with series head, neck and chest injuries.

The driver of the white van, a 35-year-old man, was not injured.

Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the crash to contact police.

Meanwhile, a woman was entrapped in her vehicle after a serious two-vehicle crash on Mt Cotton Rd southeast of Brisbane this morning.

The woman, in her 50s, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with leg and arm injuries following the crash about 8am.

A man in his 80s was able to free himself from his vehicle and was taken to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
