Rothwell house fire: Child in hospital after blaze

A preschool-aged boy was taken to hospital after a house fire in Moreton Bay this morning.

A child was taken to hospital after a house fire in Rothwell this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Kelliher Street address at 10.35am Saturday morning.

The child was taken to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition with smoke inhalation.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said three crews were called to the scene, with fire investigators on route.

The spokesman added that the house was well involved when crews arrived, but have since extinguished the fire.

Crews later ventilated the area and are undertaking atmospheric testing.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said three adults and two other children, all occupants of the home, were treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation but declined transport to hospital.
