An investigation is underway after emergency services were called to a suspicious fire at Pedders Suspension & Brakes in Brisbane’s north on Monday.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews attended Pedders Suspension and Brakes on Pickering Street at Enoggera after reports of a fire after 7pm.

The fire was extinguished a short time after fire crews arrived and no major damage was visible from outside the scene.

The street was reduced to one lane as emergency services assessed the scene.

A police spokesman said the blaze was being treated as suspicious, with investigations ongoing.

“We are trying to determine whether the fire started in Battery World or the Pedders suspension and brakes next door,” the officer said.

A member of the Battery World store staff was on scene, watching as emergency services worked.

“I don’t want to say too much at this stage, not until the police have conducted an investigation,” he said.

“All I want to say is that I’m gutted.”

Queensland Police Service detectives have arrived on scene and commenced their investigations.
