A police chase ended with guns drawn in Brisbane’s southwest on Wednesday morning, after police attempted to locate a wanted man.
Police attended a Pimpama address Wednesday morning around 8.30am in relation to a man wanted on a return to prison warrant.
A group of people then fled the Gold Coast address, leading police on a chase through Logan and south Brisbane suburbs, before being intercepted and taken into custody in Durack.
A QPS spokeswoman said the group fled in a Subaru Impreza and Polair and police tracked the vehicle through Logan and south Brisbane, before dumping the vehicle in a parking lot.
“The occupants of the vehicle left the Subaru Impreza at a carpark in a Sunnybank shopping centre, leaving in a Toyota HiLux,” the spokeswoman said.
“Police have continued to track the vehicle to Oxley, where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Bowhill Road around 10.50am.
“The vehicle has stopped on Blunder Road and four people, two men and two females, have been taken into custody.”
After the chase, six police officers with guns drawn were seen intercepting the white Toyota HiLux on Blunder Road in Durack before arresting the four people.
QPS added that neither of the cars involved were stolen and investigations are ongoing.
