Brave fire fighters rescued two dogs from a burning house at Moorooka overnight after a blaze broke out in the back of the property.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) were called to the Bracken St house just before midnight on Tuesday where a fire had started in the rear of the house.
Four crews arrived and found the Queenslander-style home fully engulfed in flames.
The occupants of the home evacuated before emergency crews arrived, but two pets were still inside the house.
A QFES spokeswoman said crews found the dogs and rescued them from the house.
The intense blaze forced neighbours to evacuate while fire crews also protected their homes.
The fire was fully extinguished by 2am, but the house suffered substantial damage.
No one was injured.
Queensland Police are investigating the cause of the fire and will return to the scene on Wednesday.
