An abandoned building has caught fire at Petrie north of Brisbane, with thick smoke causing a traffic hazard.
The building in Anzac Ave caught fire just before 4pm on Wednesday, with multiple reports of smoke coming from the roof of the structure.
Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze, with the building well alight by the time they arrived.
Queensland ambulance also attended the incident but no patients had been reported as of 5pm.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area.

Thick plumes of smoke have shrouded neighbouring streets, with motorists urged to avoid driving in the area and residents told to stay indoors.
