Multi-Vehicle crash causes fraffic chaos on Bruce Highway at Woombye

Motorists travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway are facing 30-minute delays and 5km of congestion following a multi-vehicle crash.

A multi-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Woombye has resulted in significant traffic delays, with motorists facing up to 30 minutes of additional travel time and over 5km of congestion. The incident occurred just before 2pm, involving two vehicles, one of which was towing a caravan.

The northbound lane of the Bruce Highway between Diddillibah and the Kiel Mountain overpass has been closed as a result of the collision.

A QPS spokesperson said diversions are currently in place at Nambour Connection Rd.

As emergency services work to clear the scene and reopen the highway, Queensland Police are urging motorists to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible, with the northbound lane expected to remain closed throughout the afternoon.

A QAS spokesperson said the drivers of the vehicles sustained minor injuries and declined transport to hospital.
