Pedestrians hurt in Brisbane crash, Caboolture smash causes delays

Two people have been hurt, including one seriously, after they were struck by a vehicle in Brisbane today.

Emergency services were called to reports of a pedestrian and vehicle crash about 11.03am near the corner of on Lagoon Street and Brighton Road in Sandgate.

Witness recalls desperate efforts of first responders

Multiple crews, including the High Acuity Response Unit, attended the scene.

A male in his 50s sustained minor injuries and was in a stable condition and a woman in her 40s was in a serious condition with head and other injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

Paramedics were preparing to take them to hospital about 11.30am.

Earlier, a multi-vehicle crash had caused delays for motorists, with drivers urged to seek an alternative route as emergency services travel to the scene.

The crash between multiple vehicles occurred just before 11am at the King Street intersection on Beerburrum Road in Caboolture.

As a result of the crash traffic lights have been impacted at the intersection and there are delays for motorists, according to RACQ.

Police received a report that three or four vehicles had been involved in the crash but QPS had not yet confirmed the details.

The Caboolture Central stop at Caboolture is temporarily unavailable due to the traffic incident, according to TransLink.

RACQ urged motorists to plan ahead and seek an alternate route.
