Motorcycle rider transported to hospital after a serious crash with a vehicle

An adult male has sustained serious chest and arm injuries after a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at Ipswich on Wednesday.

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision with another vehicle at Ipswich late on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at an intersection in Mary St, Blackstone, about 11.30pm.

The male rider was transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition with chest and arm injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle did not require transportation.

The road was closed until about 12pm. Investigations were continuing.

Queensland Ambulance Service has attended 903 motorcycle accidents so far this year, and today gave a presentation to media to highlight motorcycle safety, with Kim McNamara, who was involved in a serious motorcycle and vehicle crash in Brisbane’s Carina in 2012.
